Ambulance jet: Safe and quick way to your destination
You or one of your loved ones got seriously ill abroad and there is no good medical treatment in the country you are at that moment? That is a fact we at Medical Repatriation UK have been faced with a lot of times in the past and in the present. It is well-known that not every country has such high medical standards as the UK. So when there is a medical urgency, there is often just one option left to get the patient back home safely: A medical flight with a fully medically equipped ambulance jet to ensure a safe and gentle journey.
Our fully-equipped ambulance jets
To provide optimum care for patients, our ambulance jets are fitted with permanently installed intensive care equipment. This flexibility guarantees a fast, safe journey with the shortest possible waiting time at any time, day or night. The equipment includes:
- Intensive Care Unit, with vacuum mattress if required
- 6,000 litres of medical oxygen and optional additional tanks
- Multiparameter intensive care transport monitor
- Intensive care ventilators, including for complex ventilation patterns
- Twelve-channel multifunctional ECG
- Pulse oximetry and blood gas analyser
- Biphasic defibrillator and external pacemaker
- Satellite telephone for communication anywhere in the world
Of course, we can organize extra equipment depending on the condition of the patient as required. In addition, sufficient quantities of all necessary emergency medication will be on board, for example, beta blockers, anti-coagulants and adrenalin. The medication carried on the flight is also individually adjusted to the health condition of the patient before each flight, ensuring the best possible patient care at all times.
We frequently use Citation Bravo, Citation Sovereign, Challenger 604, Learjet 31, Learjet 35, Learjet 35A, Learjet 36, Learjet 45 and Learjet 55 or 60 ambulance jets. These excel with the following features:
- Fast operational readiness
- Technical reliability
- High cruising speed
- Economical and efficient operation
During the ambulance flight, our patients are accompanied and cared for by experienced medical personnel. The medical specialists are, of course, selected in accordance with the patient's diagnosis. The specialized medical team continually ensures the well-being of the patient and maintains the highest possible medical safety standards during the entire medical repatriation journey in the aircraft.
